One of the leading Dutch energy companies GasTerra and German group E. ON Ruhrgas have extended the current contract on gas supplies until 2028.Thus, the volume of additional gas from the Netherlands will be about 60 billion cubic meters, RIA Novosti. Conclusion of this agreement was preceded by lengthy and painstaking negotiations on the price of subsequent deliveries. “Due to geographical proximity and close political relations with the Netherlands, supply of natural gas from that country in the best way to ensure reliable and affordable supply of Germany”, – said responsible for the gas member of the board of E. ON Ruhrgas Jochen Weize. According to the manager, the agreement guarantees for the future diversification of gas purchases of German concern. “It also confirms the correctness of our system of long-term agreements to supply”, – added Weize. A signatory document with the Dutch side the head GasTerra Gert-Jan Langhorst (Gertjan Lankhorst) underlined the importance to both sides for more than 40-year-old partnership between the two companies. “The continuation of these trade relations ensures stability of supply in north-western Europe and confirms the value of natural gas in the energy market,” – he said.
