The volume of natural gas supplies from Russia to Armenia in January-November 2008 increased by 11% over the same period last year and amounted to 2.493 trillion cubic meters.It is reported JSC “ArmRosgazprom” ( “daughter” of Gazprom, Armenian monopoly on the supply and distribution of Russian natural gas to the domestically). Over 11 months in Armenia were implemented 1846 billion cubic meters of gas. In doing so, for the energy sector accounted for 564 million cubic meters of gas, people used 488 million cubic meters, the industry – 345 million cubic meters. Currently Armenia receives natural gas from Russia at a price of 110 dollars per thousand cubic meters, said RIA Novosti. JSC “ArmRosgazprom was founded in 1997, currently has capital of 278 billion drams (about 900 million dollars), the shareholders – Gazprom (72.16% stake), the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia (22, 78%) and oil and gas company Itera (5.06%).
