Kyrgyzstan intends to request to keep prices at current levels – 145 dollars per thousand cubic meters, reported today by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources of Kyrgyzstan Ilyas Davydov.“Uzbekistan has put forward a fairly stringent requirements: 300 dollars per thousand cubic meters on condition of signing a contract until 18 December”, – said Kirghiz Minister at a meeting of parliamentary faction, commenting on the results of the Tashkent talks on the price of gas for 2009. Otherwise, according to Davydova, Uzbekistan intends to redirect for the Republic of gas in Russia, RIA “Novosti”. Meanwhile, the government of Kyrgyzstan expects to receive the blue fuel at a price of 2008 – 145 dollars per thousand cubes in the light of declining world prices of hydrocarbon resources. “Already drafted a letter to the heads of government of Uzbekistan, in which we ask to leave the old price of gas. Currently, the letter is the signature by the Prime Minister Igor Chudinova “- said the minister. Davydov said that Kyrgyzstan intends to seriously defend its position in the second round of talks on gas, linking the issue with contracts for the supply of neighbors of irrigation water in irrigation period. “We propose to organize a meeting on intergovernmental agreements on hydro-power mode, where we are going to dictate our conditions for the supply of water” – he said. Uzbekistan is a monopoly supplier of gas to the needs of Kyrgyzstan.
